Over the next few decades, the taxi industry continued to evolve, with the introduction of new technologies and services. In the 1960s, for example, the first radios for taxis were introduced, allowing passengers to hail a taxi more easily.

In the 80s and 90s, taxis in Portugal underwent a new transformation, with the introduction of new, more modern and comfortable car models. In addition, taxis began to offer additional services such as carrying luggage and transporting pets.

Today, the taxi is a recognized means of transport throughout the country, offering quality services and professionalism. In recent years, especially with the arrival of innovative ride-sharing services and digital platforms, there has been a new boost in the taxi sector in Portugal, with new forms of organization and technological innovation at the service of customers.

It is not possible to specify exactly which was the first taxi to circulate in Portugal, since there are no precise records of this information. However, it is known that the first regular taxi service was opened in Lisbon in 1904 by the company Hertz. Before that, there were some rental vehicles that performed similar services, but without the frequency and organization of the taxi service that we know today.
